Chairman Bobby Self welcomed visitors and called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM. Michael Rodgers offered the evening Invocation, and Jason Lemley led the meeting attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.

Approval of Agenda & Minutes
With a motion and a second, the agenda was approved as presented. The BOE approved the board functions and the minutes from the May 2024 board meetings.
Strategic Goal Area I: Student Success
Director of Accountability Jane Mullinax shared a presentation with the Board on our recent Cognia Accreditation process and the final report. That presentation is linked here.
Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Accountability Jennifer Moss shared a presentation with the Board on House Bill 538: The Early Literacy Act. That presentation is linked here.
Strategic Goal Area II: Parent and Community Engagement
A community member addressed the BOE with concerns of cell phone usage by students in school. The community member was given five minutes for their community participation address as the BOE listened to their concerns. The BOE appreciates the involvement of our parents and community.
Strategic Goal Area IV: Operational & Organizational Excellence
Associate Superintendent Greg Trammell provided updates on the renovations at Blackburn Elementary School and the new Pre-K and DayCare classrooms at the former LCES.
Director of Finance Dr. Whittney McPherson presented the most recent financial reports for Lumpkin County Schools. Reports include the following:
